Japandi bedroom before and after: a dark, cluttered room made calm
A dated bedroom with heavy brown curtains and a busy floral duvet, redesigned in Japandi style with the bedroom design tool and this idea as the style reference. The walls, window, carpet and ceiling light stayed; the furniture, textiles and colors changed.

The room in the starting photo looks darker and busier than it is. Heavy brown curtains cover part of the only window, a dark pine bed with a floral duvet fills the middle of the room, and clothes and bags are piled along the left wall.
Was sich geändert hat
- The dark pine bed became a low, light oak bed with linen bedding
- Sheer, floor-length linen curtains replaced the brown ones
- Matching oak nightstands with ceramic lamps on both sides of the bed
- A large jute rug under the bed
- The piles of clothes gave way to a woven basket and a potted olive tree
- One large, quiet artwork above the bed

Bedrooms with one window and a plain carpet or wood floor, where the furniture and textiles are the problem rather than the room itself. The pale palette depends on daylight; in a darker room, keep a lamp on each side of the bed, as the result does.
